" Snowbird " is a song written by Canadian singer-songwriter Gene MacLellan. Though it has been recorded by many performers, it is best known through Anne Murray 's 1969 recording.

This song won the 1971 Juno Award (the Canadian music award) for Best Produced Single, the same year that Anne Murray won the Juno for Best Female Vocalist.

Murray recorded this after watching its composer, Gene MacLellan, perform it on Canadian TV. It was the second song MacLellan had ever written and he penned it in just 25 minutes.
