A minor explosive eruption occurred at the summit crater of Kanlaon Volcano from 8:05 p.m. to 8:08 p.m. on Friday (October 24), according to Phivolcs. The event produced an eruption plume that reached up to 2,000 meters above the crater and drifted northeast, based on time-lapse footage from the Lower Masulog, Canlaon City observation station (VKLM), the agency said. Pyroclastic density currents (PDCs) were also observed flowing down the southern upper slopes within 1 kilometer of the summit. PH
